So far throughout this year in photography class, we have created many projects that have taught a lot about art. Three projects that really stuck out to me were the gradient selfie painting, the selfie project and the shadow photography.
Although we haven't finished the gradient selfie painting it still have taught me a variety of skills. We learned how to put gradient effects and color schemes on a selfie we had taken before. We then learned how to trace the picture from a projector. We used a lot of detail and used different pressure on the pencil to create different textures of the photo. Lastly, we mixed paints together that matched the gradient color as closely as possible and painted different colors per each painting. The selfie project let us have a lot of creativity and let us express aspects about our lives. We used photoshop to put opacity, and effects on the photos to show all different photos that express us. Last of all, the shadow project let us learn how to use different lights to create photos. We learned how to place the camera to make pictures differ. Also we used objects that created differently shaped shadows. All the projects we did this year really taught me about all the different art that can be created. I never realized how diverse computer art and photography can be. My self portraits I made by taking selfies infront of a mirror and using my phone from the reflection of the computer. I like them because the phone covers my face and it looks artsy. I also like them because the wallpaper in the back is a interesting effect.
For my selfie project I used photoshop. I chose a background picture and pictures to add in the collage. I used the background eraser to take the background away from the pictures of me. I turned the opacity down on different levels for each picture.
In this project we used pen tool to create designs that would give good shadows. Once we printed the designs we cut them with Exacto knives. We bent the cut designs so they give off a shadow. We turned the lights off and used flashlights and other sources of lights to make the shawdows. I captured a bunch of photos where the light reflects off the designs.
REALISTIC PICTURES SHOW THE ACTUAL DESIGN OF THE PHOTO. NO FILTERS, OR ANY DIFFERENCES WERE MADE TO ALTER THE PICTURE. I photographed a picture of the ocean, sky and rocks. The first picture is realistic, the seconf two show abstract and the last is non objective.
